01Start with your game edition
Choose official Vanilla for classic Java, Paper with Geyser and Floodgate for supported Java–Bedrock cross-play, or Modded with Fabric or NeoForge 1.21.1. Modded players must match the version, loader and required mods. Bedrock does not need Java ownership on the Paper option; consoles may need a connection helper. Existing worlds need review before engine changes.

02Describe the world you want to run
A small survival world, a plugin-heavy community and a large explored map create different workloads. Make a short list of the plugins or server software you intend to use, the activities your group enjoys and how much of the world you expect to explore. Check software compatibility before uploading files.
Do not assume a fixed number of gigabytes guarantees a particular player count. World generation, entities, redstone, plugins and view distance all affect demand. Begin with a realistic workload and watch actual performance.
03Compare memory, CPU and storage together
Memory is one resource, not the entire performance story. Read the CPU allocation and storage limit alongside RAM. A CPU quota on shared infrastructure is not a dedicated physical processor. Leave room for world growth and the files your setup needs.
Use the current package page for allocations and monthly prices. Availability is checked before checkout; a listed plan is not a reserved server.

04Plan your backups before your first big build
Check the backup allowance for your package. Create a completed recovery point before importing a world or changing server software, and keep a downloaded copy somewhere you control. Backup slots are a limit on retained snapshots, not unlimited storage or a guarantee that every change is recoverable.
Stop the server before replacing world files. A restore replaces current data with the selected snapshot, so save any newer progress you want to keep.

05Review the complete subscription
Check the recurring monthly price, what is included, when service starts and how cancellation works. Read the refund and retention terms before paying. Keep your own world export before ending a service.
When you are ready, create your separate hosting account, verify your email and choose an available package. Payment confirmation begins server preparation. Support can help if an order needs attention.
